I am a Brighton based vocalist with many years of professional experience. My lessons cover breathing, tone, diction, vibrato, microphone technique and performance and 1 to 1 sessions are tailored to meet each individual student’s requirements. I always like to make learning fun and enjoyable and I love to hear my students improving as the weeks go by and I feel so proud when they tell me that they have been accepted into a music college or performed in a school musical or merely just how much they enjoy singing as singing has always been my passion and music is such an important part of my life.
I began my career whilst still at school singing with a 9 – piece band for the Rank Organisation and this lead to contracts on cruise ships including Cunard’s Q E 2 and P & O’s Canberra and Sea Princess.
I then went on to form my own duo with singer guitarist, Bob Croucher and we have performed all over the world in 5 Star hotels at corporate events, nightclubs, theatres and casinos. My duo “Stone and Street” is very popular and in demand and we have recently completed a successful contract in Majorca for Thomson Gold Holidays.
Whilst performing in Dubai we were picked as support act for many top artists including Dionne Warwick, The Four Tops, Leo Sayer and Dame Edna. I also perform with the fantastic band of top musicians “The Funk Skunks” with which I have recorded 2 albums. I have also appeared with cast members and the band of the West End hit show “A Tribute to the Blues Brothers”.
Since qualifying as a tutor from Access to Music College 3 years ago I have been teaching on a 1 to 1 basis and in small groups preparing students for vocal exams and performances with Hove based singing school “Vocademy”. I speak Spanish and welcome ESOL students as I can empathise with pronunciation difficulties. I have been CRB checked and I am a full Equity member.
Described by jazz singer Claire Martin OBE as “Mesmerizing”.
